Presbyterian Junior Section Boys raise £1,000 for World Mission
15th Sep 2016
Presbyterian Junior Section Boys presented a cheque for £1000 to Rev Dr Jim Campbell who organises the Presbyterian Boys' Brigade World Mission Committee, for the work of Global Fellowship at the recent Boys' Brigade annual conference held this year in Belfast in September.
The Presbyterian Boys' Brigade World Mission Committee was set up in 1967 to enable boys to learn about the lives of young people in other countries around the world. It also has raised funds through an annual appeal to support overseas projects, especially those benefiting children.
Since its inception 49 years ago, Junior BB boys in Ireland have raised approximately £900,000 for such projects. Around £180,000 of this has been used to advance the work of the Boys' Brigade world-wide through the Global Fellowship and its predecessors.
The gift of £1000 to the Global Fellowship from Presbyterian Junior Sections is to mark the meeting of the Brigade Council in Belfast and is given with the promise of continued support for the work of the Global Fellowship.
